De Heidebloem is founded in the year 1900, when Gerardus van de Broek could not pay his drinking bill in the café of his brother Hanske. His debt was let off if Gerardus started a crossbow club in the café. Now one hundred years later, the club is still very alive, and plays a prominent role in both the regional (Brabant) and the national (Netherlands) league. The 25 active members shoot with traditional crossbows and a target distance of 30 feet.
